· Holograph attestation signed : [ca. 1831] : (HWD 03.055) : on a letter cover fragment, stamped 15 Dec 1831, addressed to Lardner from the poet James Montgomery, with Montgomery's closing signature; Lardner's note reads in full, "Autograph of James Montgomery / author of The World before the Flood &c. / D. L." Letter cover bears Montgomery's monogram wax seal. Apparently given to Abraham Hayward as an autograph specimen. Within the Abraham Hayward correspondence files. · Holograph attestation signed : [ca. 1832] : (HWD 5.067) : on a letter cover, stamped 13 Jan [1832?], addressed to Lardner from the writer Sismondi; Lardner's note reads in full, "The handwriting of the celebrated Sismondi / author of the "Italian Republics" &c. &c. / D.L." Apparently given to Abraham Hayward as an autograph specimen. Within the Abraham Hayward correspondence files. · To [Sir John Bowring?] : 1 autograph letter signed : [no date] : (MISC 4023.38c) : from 18 St James Square : begins, "I am so pressed with engagements that I cannot fix a time for the S. J. ..." Mounted within the Mary Ann Humble autograph album. Shelved with oversized manuscript volumes.
